CLIMATOLOGY

This is the physical science which deals with the study or classification of the element of climate. This element of climate includes Rainfall, Temperature, Pressure, Wind, Sunshine, Humidity, Fog, Vegetation and Clouds.

TYPES OR NATURE OF CLIMATOLOGY

There are main three types of Climatology including;

1. PHYSICAL CLIMATOLOGY

This is the type of climatology which deals with the occurrence and characteristics of the elements of climate. For example how rainfall forms with their features.

2. REGIONAL CLIMATOLOGY

This is the branch of climatology which deals with the variation of the element climate from one place to another. This is because element of climate are not uniform through over the space, for example element which exist in equatorial climate can differ with the desert climate.

3. APPLIED CLIMATOLOGY

This is the branch of climatology which deals with the relationship between climatology or the element of climate with other science subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Agriculture.

CLIMATE

This is the average weather atmospheric condition which is taken and recorded over a long period of time. E.g. above 30 years in a given area. The records taken and recorded daily, examples of climate are like Equatorial climate, Tropical Climate and desert climate.

WEATHER

This is also an average atmospheric condition which is taken and recorded in an area over a short period of time, e.g. Daily, Hours, Week, etc. element weather is the same as that of climate.
